A 22-year-old woman, Uche Chukwurah, was reportedly abducted after boarding Keke Napep in Asaba, Delta State.

Human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu disclosed the incident in a post shared on Instagram on Friday, November 1, 2025. According to him, Uche left work on Wednesday, October 29 and boarded a tricycle near Ibusa Junction in Asaba but never returned home.

Gwamnishu revealed that that night, Uche’s kidnappers contacted her family demanding ransom. However, since her father was unable to pay the requested amount, she remained imprisoned.

The activist expressed deep concern over the rising cases of kidnappings and disappearances in the country and questioned whether Nigerians are truly safe despite their caution.

“At this point, one can only wonder – how careful can one really be to avoid falling into the hands of these criminals? There are so many reported cases of disappearances and kidnappings,” he wrote.

Gwamnishu, through the Safe Cities Foundation, appealed to the public to remain vigilant and urged authorities to intensify efforts to rescue Uche and curb growing insecurity in Delta State.
