George Clooney began last year’s decision to withdraw support for Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election, a move that sparked a harsh response from Donald Trump.
The actor and lifelong Democrat talked about his decision in an interview with “60 Minutes” aired on Sunday. Clooney is also promoting his new Broadway drama Good night, good luckThe political dispute was resolved centered on legendary journalist Edward R. Murrow at the request of correspondent Jon Wertheim.
Clooney explained that he decided for himself in New York Times Biden is urged to resign as a Democratic candidate because of his age concerns. The actor said his recognition of the shift had the potential to replace Biden on the ticket. Trump responded on his truth social platform after seeing the interview, calling Clooney a “second-rate movie “star” and “failed political expert”, among other insults.
