Atletico Madrid have agreed to sign 28-year-old Ademola Lookman from Atalanta for €40 million, €35 million fixed fee and €5 million in add-ons.
Atalanta’s move follows the players’ decision on Saturday night for Atletico Madrid to face Fenerbahce.
Lookman has agreed a long-term deal with Atletico and is currently planning the next steps for the Nigeria striker’s travel and medical arrangements.
Lookman recently returned to the club in Italy after representing the Super Eagles at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
He is one of the players with the most goals in the just-concluded African Cup of Nations.
