The Afenifere National Youth Commission (AYC) raised concerns about the escalating murder and kidnapping crisis in southwestern Nigeria, especially in Ondo State.
AYC President Prince Eniola Ojajuni called on the president to declare a state of emergency to address the growing sense of insecurity.
Last month, Oja Juni himself was a victim of kidnapping in Akunu State, Ndo State, highlighting the shocking surge in kidnapping and brutal killings in the area.
He noted that criminals have turned the forest into a negotiation camp for ransom, and that the main roads have become death traps for innocent travelers.

In the letter, Ojajuni said: “I have worsened the insecurity in the southwest, especially in Ondo State, especially, to write to you.
He called on the president to take decisive action, saying: “The insecurity in the southwest has surpassed the crisis; it is a total war against innocent Nigerians.”
