    • Kofi Offeh, a 36-year-old Ghanaian, claimed to be the king of the “African tribe”.
    • He called himself King Athen.
    • Offeh and two followers, Jean Gasho from Zimbabwe and Kaura Taylor from Texas live in the forests of Geedburg, Scotland.

After living for several months, immigration authorities were evacuated by immigration authorities from a forest in Gideburg, Scotland, a king who called himself an “African tribe”.

The 36-year-old Ghanaian Kofi Offeh, who calls himself Jean Gasho of Zimbabwe and Kaura Taylor of Texas, has lived in the woods since May.

The group had been issued two eviction notices before authorities took action.

A new court order dated October 1, 2025 prohibits them from returning to private land, thus clearing the camp on October 2.

Gidburg Councilman Scott Hamilton said: “The location is currently being cleared by the Council. There are still some things that are working with this situation, but I think this morning’s result for the community and theirs is also a good result.”

Offeh and Gasho said they lived in the forest, reconnected with nature and took back land they believed were taken from their ancestors.

Offeh describes their lifestyle: “We live a very simple life of returning to innocence. We connect to nature. We connect to the trees around us. We get grounded every morning. We bathe in the springwater. We are living a simple life of relying daily on the creator for food, shelter and clothing. We live in a tent without walls, but we are not afraid of anyone, for we have the protection of the creator, Yahowah. We follow the laws of the creator, everything belongs to the ones who made it. We do not think any authority owns land.”

Taylor reportedly disappeared from her Texas family and served as a maid for Offeh and Gasho. She renamed her name Asnat and insisted that she was not missing, even as her family called for her return and accused Offeh and Gasho of affecting her influence online.

The expulsion of these three people has attracted attention to their own claims and lifestyle.
