Six years after getting married, American actor and writer Steve Guttenberg divorced his wife Emily Smith.
The Police Academy star, 66, applied to end his marriage in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, California, on Friday, April 4, according to court documents obtained by TMZ.
The actor believes that “irreconciliational differences” are the reason for their split, but he does not list the dates of their separation.
Steve reportedly wrote “TBD” in that section for “determined”.
The estranged couple entered into a prenuptial agreement that would determine the division of property assets and debts in any community.
Steve agreed to pay Emily’s spouse’s support in the filing and asked the parties to cover their own future legal fees and expenses.
Steve and Emily said in January 2019 that they had no children together.
The two got married at a private ceremony in Malibu after they got engaged in December 2016.
Steve and Emily met on “Dating for the Blind” after being founded in 2014 by WCBS-TV’s Scott Rapoport.
Steve previously married model Denise Bixler from 1988 to 1992.
Less than three months after the divorce, the Pacific Palisades community in Guttenberg was destroyed by Palisades wildfires.
The actor is actively trying to help wherever possible. “Currently I have the option to sit, walk or stand up to do my best. I chose to stand up and fight. and help,” he told people.
A source also told the media that Guttenberg’s houses narrowly survived, the fires destroyed thousands of structures, and he “had been with several neighbors, whose houses also made them well.
“They are dining together, trying to brush off the brush, trying to put out the smoldering fire and put out the ashes in the air,” the insider revealed.
“They have been getting food and essentials through quick relief groups and sharing everything, portable heaters, water, basically taking care of each other.”
