Senate President Godswill Akpabio dismissed the allegations of suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan during her home rally in Sallah in Okehi, Kogi.
Naija News Natasha reportedly claimed at a rally Tuesday, April 1, 2025 that Akpabio, along with Kogi Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and his predecessor Yahaya Bello, had assassinated her.
She said “On March 12, Governor Akpabio and Ododo recalled me. But he told him that it was impossible because the masses were with her and the people were with her.
“But Akpabio was not satisfied. Then he sent Yahaya Bello, who was actually Senator Asuquo who chose him as a meeting place. I was told everything.
Of course, the money changed hands that night. The second thing he told him was that he should try to kill me. I did not make this public, but I wrote to the police. He told him that he should make sure that killing me in Abuja would not happen. Here (Okehi) (Okehi) should do (Okehi), so it seems that the person I’m supposed to kill, but I don’t make this public, but we’ll make it public.
In response, Eseme Eyiboh, the special counsel for the Senate’s media and publicity president, said in an interview with the country that Akpabio would not be distracted by Natasha’s allegations.
According to Akpabio’s aide, Senator Natasha’s responsibility is to prove her allegations.
He said: “My reaction is just to say that people who must prove. It’s simple. It’s legally cliché. Legal principles refer to people who must prove.
“But for now, SP is working with his colleagues, Senators, to work with executives to make Nigeria renew hope.
“I mean SP is not going to go down and start to distract. He is now focusing on working with colleagues senators, working constructively with government and other departments of the government to renew Nigeria’s hope.”
