    Alhaji Aminu Dantata lies in Medina to rest

    The famous Nigerian billionaire and philanthropist Alhaji Aminu Dantata rests in the historic Al-Baqi cemetery in Medina, Saudi Arabia, after his death in Abu Dhabi on Saturday.

    After the prayer of Maghreb, the Janasa (Funeral) prayer was buried by the respected patriarch after the prayer of Janasa (Funeral) at the Prophet Mosque.

    The body arrives in Medina for burial

    Dantata’s body arrived in Medina earlier Tuesday and was accompanied by close family members, according to a statement from the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation. These include his son Alhaji Tajudeen Dantata and nephew Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa.

    The funeral was also attended by a high-level government delegation from Nigeria. The organization is led by Defense Minister Alhaji Muhammad Badaru Abubakar, which includes:

    • Attorney General and Attorney General, Prince Latef Fagbemi (SAN)
    • Minister of Information and Ethnic Training Alhaji Mohammed Idris
    • Yusuf Abdullahi, Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
    • Hassan Abdullahi, Internal Security Director, NSA Office (on behalf of National Security Advisor)

    Famous religious leaders and VIPs present

    The funeral was considered by top Islamic scholars, including:

    • Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Esia
    • Khalifa Abdullah Muhammad, Imam of Dannata Mosque in Abuja

    Diplomatic officials at the Consulate General of Nigeria, led by Ambassador Ibrahim Moddibbo, also played a key role in coordinating funeral ceremonies.

    Other participants include:

    • Senate Vice President, Senator Barau Jibrin
    • Former APC President Dr. Yousef
    • Aba Kabir Yousuf, Governor of Kano State
    • Jongnor Umar Namadi Borrow

    Last goodbye with business idols

    Business tycoon Aliko Dangote leads his family to provide a final tribute with other relatives and blessingers. The funeral also witnessed the existence of traditional rulers, including Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II and the ousted Emir Aminu Ado Bayero, all of whom came their last respect.

    Alhaji Aminu Dantata, one of the most influential businessmen in Nigeria and one of the patriarchs of the famous Dantata family, left behind a legacy of entrepreneurs, philanthropy and faith.
