- Omoyele Sowore criticized Nigerian politicians, accusing them of cutting subsidies to the poor while funding personal indulgences.
- He said Adams Oshiomhole was not alone, claiming that such behavior was common among Nigeria’s political elite.

Human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has sparked a backlash online after criticizing Nigerian politicians for alleged hypocrisy in governance and personal conduct.
Sowore made the statement while responding to remarks and actions associated with former Edo State governor and APC chairman, Adams Oshiomhole. According to him, Nigerian leaders often claim to take tough economic decisions in the name of national interest while allegedly living an indulgent lifestyle.
Sowall accused politicians of, in his words, “eliminating subsidies to the poor while subsidizing their sexual appetites,” suggesting that public officials cut social support for ordinary citizens but allegedly squandered on personal pleasures.
He further noted that Oshiomhole was no exception, claiming that such behavior runs through the political class in Nigeria.
Sowore alleged that many Nigerian politicians publicly preach sacrifice and discipline but privately engage in liaisons with ladies and other excesses, which he said contradicts their public image.
In other news… Nollywood actor and movie producer, Yul Edochie has denied reports that he and first wife May Edochie are estranged from their children, saying they still have a healthy relationship.
The actor recently made this clarification on the KaaTruths podcast, where he opened up about various aspects of his life, including marriage, political ambitions, family, and career.
In the interview, Yule addressed public speculation about his relationship with his three children. He revealed that he recently had a conversation with his son, who told him about enrolling in college and attending the matriculation ceremony.
Yul explained that he was unable to attend the event because he did not receive the information early enough.
He also clarified why he no longer shares photos or updates about his children with May on social media. According to him, a court order related to their ongoing divorce proceedings prohibits both parties from posting about their children online.
“The reason I don’t put my kids with May is not because we’re not close,” he said. “There was a court order directing us to stop fostering the children. I still maintain close contact with them and I also support my sons financially through their mother.”
Yule went on to respond in the interview when asked if he was honest about his relationship with his estranged wife.
“The main problem is not on social media. I’d rather say nothing. I don’t want to say my ex-wife did this, my ex-wife did that. Real men don’t deal with issues like this. It’s all a family matter and no one is perfect.”
