
The Niger State Police Command arrested four suspected fraudsters who forged police officers to deceive unsuspecting businessmen for money and cattle in different markets.
The suspect was identified as Aliya Marbas, 35, age of Putu’a; Jibrin Idris, 35, knee, Zekawa; Great Moses, Kasina; Abubakar John, 45, arrived on April 16, 2025.
Spd wasiu Abiodun, the commander’s spokesman, confirmed his arrest in a statement, said the suspect was found possessing a handcuff, n1.2 million n1.2 million, a cut-size paper, liquid chemicals used to forge notes and two mobile phones.
“Around 3:00 pm on April 16, 2025, a reliable intelligence operation was seen by four joint organizations dedicated to deceiving unsuspecting public members in various markets across the Niger State at the Izom cattle market, planning to deceive a person after selling his cattle,” the statement said.
“Based on this, police agents from Maje Div are with Bura No of Katsina.
“At the interrogation, the suspect admitted to being a fraudster and recovered N10 million from it. Other exhibitions include a pile of paper cut to size, liquid chemicals claimed to be used for counterfeit notes, handcuffs, handcuffs and two cell phones.
“Some victims think the group is a fraudster, they waste their money and cattle in different markets. Some say that sometimes they do see themselves as victims or fake notes producers and police officers who deceive people with other means.
“The suspect is conducting further investigation and will be prosecuted in court after the investigation.”
