Anambra Governor Chukwuma Soludo has awarded the N500,000 check to Miss Ifebude Benson, the best candidate for the 2023 Senior High School Certificate Examination conducted by the National Examinations Board in 2023.
State Education Commissioner Professor Ngozi Chuma-udeh presented the award on behalf of the governor, which was represented by Mr Ben Benson, father of Akwa on Sunday, March 23.
Chuma-udeh (pictured above left) said: “The award is the way the governor encourages Anambra students and students to academic excellence.
“The state government has made serious investments in state education, all to match the state’s education with the education that is available in developed countries and to enable Anambra children to compete with their peers anywhere.”
Ifebude, a native of Ndickelionwu, the local government area in the northern Orumba of the state, received A1 in all nine subjects she received during the exam.
She has since undergone admission to medical and surgical procedures at the University of Abuja.
Her father Benson (top right) responded, thanking Sorudo for the award, saying it would go a long way to encourage his children to work hard to be the best and actively portray the country.
