The National Progress Conference (APC) dismissed the allegation of former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s ruling party deviating from its ideals, which was unfounded and driven by personal dissatisfaction.
In a recent interview with BBC Hausa service, El-Rufai accused APC of abandoning its progressive ideals and claimed that the party has become a platform for politicians who pursue personal interests. The former governor, who recently rebelled against the Social Democratic Party (SDP), also criticized President Bora Tinub’s administration, saying it failed to deliver on its promise.
However, in a statement released on Monday, March 17, National Propaganda Minister Felix Morka said El-Rufai was upset and traumatized because he was unable to take up the ministerial position from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The party said former Governor Kaduna was nursing a wounded self and therefore lashed out at his platform toward a political standout.
Read the statement below…
“In his crazy attempt to prove his efforts from all progressive parties (APC) (APC), former Kaduna Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, in an interview with BBC Hausa, argued that APC had deviated from the progressive ideals of its founder and turned “everyone into “everyone” interest.”
In a once-viral video, El-Rufai is demeaning his belief that politicians are devoured by pursuing their own interests. In his words, “We have a politics of private interests.
Today, El-Rufai’s position is reduced, as the microcosm of a self-interested politician, blinded by self-emotions, and filled with interest with complex desires of “crashing system collapse.”
El-Rufai provided his real reason for his soreness in an interview with the BBC, noting that he was disappointed with the way President Bola Tinubu and the government treated him to express his failed bid for the minister. His claim that he quits because of partisan deviation from his established values or progressive ideology is a smokescreen that can weaponize individual complaints into objections in principle.
El-Rufai appears to be traumatized by failure to obtain ministerial position. He cared for a wounded self, and he now slammed his platform toward political visibility.
APC’s commitment to its creation of values and ideals is just as effective and progressive as it was at the time. El-Rufai’s allegations of the founding values of our party exist only in his misty imagination. Assuming the question of political beliefs has anything to do with his exit, how about the Social Democratic Party (SDP), El-Rufai’s new political abode, an ideological haven?
El-Rufai called on opposition members to join him under the SDP banner, nothing more than an invitation to drink from a selfish, revenge and delusional holy grail. Nigerians are much higher than El-Rufai imagined, knowing that he is driven by primitive self-interest rather than real concern for the country.
Our great party wasn’t shocked by El-Rufai’s hatred Tirade. We continue to welcome millions of new members across the country who are joining the party’s lofty values and supporting President Tinubu’s bold and transformative policies, which now provide sustainable growth and prosperity for our country.
El-Rufai claims that Tinubu fails, as outrageous as it is false, and the reality is seriously distorted. In all sectors, Nigerians are witnessing tangible progress in delivering the president’s campaign commitment. There is no doubt that Nigeria today is better than when he took office. ”
