Tunde Oladunjoye, spokesman for the Ogun State Chapter of the Ogun State Assembly (APC), passed away.

Naija News Oladunjoye of Ijebu-Itele, an area of eastern Ijebu, reportedly died in the UK after a prolonged illness, according to reports.

The family wrote in a statement confirming his death, “We announce the deep sorrow and total surrender to the divine will of Alhaji Abdulraheem Ayinde Oladunjoye, our beloved father, husband, brother and respected leader, Alhaji Abdulraheem Ayinde Oladunjoye, who returned to his Lord on Friday, April 4, 2025.”

The family added that the funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun’s reaction to the news described Oladunjoye’s death as a devastating loss to the party and the country.

In an emotional tribute, the governor expressed doubts and shock at the death of an experienced spokesperson and government adviser, saying Oladunjoye was a dynamic and loyal politician who died at his peak.

He said “It was devastating to me that Tunde Oladunjoye, a spokesman and consultant for the brave, resourceful, rare brain and effort party, had left. It was tragic news, frankly, difficult to understand.

“Oladunjoye never believed in half the measures. He defended the Ogun State government’s plans, policies and image with rare dedication. He is an effective and accomplished spokesperson whose talents are never questioned.

“He is the voice of courage and can easily be the best spokesperson of Ogun APC ever. His tenacity, tenacity and loyalty are obvious and he has made a huge contribution to the growth of our party and the success of this administration.”

Governor Abiodun also expressed condolences to Oladunjoye’s immediate family, the Ogun APC family and his colleagues, calling him “a good man he will miss very much.”

Prior to serving as the party’s spokesman, Oladunjoye served as chairman of the IJEBU Eastern Government Region.
