Arsenal has finally agreed to a deal for the long-term goal of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
Recall that the defensive midfielder has been on Arsenal’s radar for more than a year, and the deal has been effectively sealed since the winter transfer window.
Now, Zubimendi verbally agreed to sign a long-term agreement in North London under Fabrizio Romano, where Arsenal is ready to trigger Spain’s £51 million issuance terms.
Zubimendi will be the first signing of new sporting director Andrea Berta, who joined the club from Madrid in March after being fired for a brief deadline for Edu and Jason Ayto.
Zubimendi, 26, is regarded as one of the main midfield talents in European football and is a key player in Spain, as part of his country’s winning European campaign in 2024.
