In a statement released Thursday by his media adviser Paul IBE, the former vice president dismissed the report to misrepresent the interview. According to Ibe, Atiku Abubakar “clearly and explicitly” is that “young people and other prospective president aspirants are free to compete. He further noted that if a young candidate emerges through a competitive primary, he will “easily support such candidates”.
The statement was a summary of warnings about misunderstandings in journalism, highlighting that the hints attributed to Waziri Adamawa in his BBC Hausa interview were inaccurate and did not reflect his actual comments.
