The attackers broke into their residence and performed horrible acts in the early hours of Sunday, April 6, 2025.
Pastor Lee Ngbede (FCS), Keffi Regional Coordinator for the Christian Student Fellowship (FCS), confirmed the incident to describe it as devastating.
“Si sister Jimoh committed members of the football club in Keffi. The situation surrounding their terrible deaths still shocked Keffi and the entire Christians in the state,” he said.
Pastor Ngbede explained that Mrs. Jimoh’s father first raised the attention, who contacted family and friends after he could not reach the couple. Then visit their home.
When one of Mr. Jimo’s colleagues arrived at the residence, he found that the door was locked. But, a glimpse of the disturbing sight from the back window – the swarms swarmed, foul-stealing, prompting the police to call immediately.
When he broke in, the officer found Mrs. Jimo’s lifeless body on the bed, which had been broken down. Her legs were spread out and her hands were placed on her head – a position that caused fear of sexual assault.
Mr. Jimo was found near the door, tied up and suffered multiple machete wounds to his head. Despite being reluctantly alive, he was taken to Keffi’s Federal Medical Center (FMC).
“From all signs, the woman was raped to D3ath. Since then, her neck has also been chopped, almost hanging in the air.”
Some community members linked the attack to suspicious Fulani herders, referring to a similar pattern of conflict involving the women of the deceased and past violence in the area.
Mrs. Jimo was buried on a piece of cloth on Thursday, April 10 because of her body’s condition.
Mr. Jimo never recovered his consciousness and succumbed to his injuries a few days later.
He was buried on Wednesday, April 16.
