The federal government has secured the release of six Nigerian women who have been detained in Cape Verde on false allegations of human trafficking now identified. The foreign ministry confirmed in a statement issued on Wednesday, April 16 that the women have been released and have since left the country. The statement signed by the Ministry’s spokesman Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa revealed that Nigeria actively interacted with Verdean Intority in Guinea Bissau to facilitate the release.
