    • Davido’s close associate Israel DMW has commented on the singer’s loss at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
    • The awards ceremony was held on February 1 in Los Angeles.
    • Davido was nominated for Best African Music Act.

Davido’s close associate, Israel DMW, has reacted to the singer’s loss at the 2026 Grammy Awards on Sunday, February 1, in Los Angeles.

The Afrobeat star is nominated for the Best African Music Act award alongside Burna Boy, Wizkid, Omah Lay and Ayra Starr. However, the award went to South African singer Tyra.

After the results of the competition were announced, Israel DMW took to Instagram to encourage fans, insisting that Davido remains one of the most powerful forces in the music industry. He expressed confidence that the singer will continue to release hit records despite her Grammy win.

Tyla won the award for her song Push 2 Start, which outperformed Burna Boy’s Love, Davido’s With You featuring Omah Lay, Ayra Starr and Wizkid’s Gimme Dat, and Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin’s Hope & Love.

Her win marks another major milestone in her fast-growing global career. Davido’s fan base, meanwhile, insists accolades do not define his impact, pointing to his consistency and ability to connect with audiences around the world.

Israel DMW further stated that Davido’s legacy as a hitmaker remains intact, stressing that regardless of the award outcome, his long list of successful releases speaks for itself.

He assured supporters that the singer’s musical journey was far from over and promised more exciting songs to come.

Davido remains one of Africa’s most influential music figures with over a decade of experience in the industry and a reputation as Nigeria’s leading Afrobeats artist. Although he missed out on this year’s Grammys, the nomination itself is widely considered another major achievement in his career.
