Later that night, about 1830 hours or so, about 20 armed bandits ambushed members of the Community Guards (CPG), stationed at a checkpoint between the sauna on the Sokoto-Gusau highway and Gidan Kano.
The gangsters overwhelmed the CPG, kidnapped one of their members, Asiru Dawa, and took him to an undisclosed position.
The army has since launched an operation to track the bandits and rescue the kidnapped CPG members.
