The suspicious gangster has K! Saminu Suleiman Morai and four others.
The gunmen raided the Morley community and horrified for more than three hours from 1:00 AM to 3:25 AM on Monday, April 15, 2025.
Several residents, including Saminu’s family, were kidnapped during the attack.
The deceased also included his former MP Alhaji Akilu Liman, who died in the attack.
Intelligence sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama that the attack was caused by an armed gang that originated from Bayan Ruwa, a known terrorist stronghold in the Maladen LGA.
The attackers are believed to have been invited to the village by the community of Jandutsi Fulanis.
The invitation was allegedly in response to claims that the president of Talata-Mafara LGA illegally allocated grazing land to Hausa Farmers in Jandutsi Forest, thus exacerbating tensions among local communities.
Reports show that the disputed delimitation of Jandutsi’s grazing land was sold to Hausa communities at N50,000 per land, resulting in allegations of corruption and improper distribution of land.
“This incident has exacerbated the existing tensions between Fulani herders and Hausa farmers in the area, and the Jandusi community is reportedly seeking retaliation for so-called land sales, which they claim has deprived them of important grazing land,” Makama said.
“The attack caused widespread anger, prompting calls for an immediate investigation into land sales and subsequent violent retaliation.
“Many people see this incident as a symbol of a large-scale land dispute and a corruption crisis that continues to exacerbate conflicts in the Northwest, with politicians and colleagues accused of depriving vulnerable communities for personal gain.”
Work is currently underway to arrest attackers, with joint security forces operating in the area to restore peace and bring perpetrators to justice.
According to Islamic rituals, the victim’s bodies have been recovered and buried.
