Intelligence sources told security analyst Zagazola Makama that local vigilance quickly mobilized and repelled the initial attack.
But when they pursue the attackers into the forest, the bandits launch an ambush, k! lling 12 alert members.
A security source in the area confirmed the incident, noting that the bandits overwhelmed their vigilance during the ambush, causing heavy casualties before retreating deep into the forest.
“The community initially repelled them, but unfortunately the bandits reorganized and ambushed our soldiers, resulting in tragic losses of 12 members,” the source said.
