The bandits occupied a petroll dealer of Alhaji ABS and his manager, Abubakar Issa, located in the Gbugbu community in the Kwarnment Edu local government area.
The victim was kidnapped on Friday, May 9, 2025.
Witness accounts indicate that the attack occurred after Alhaji Abbas and Mr Issa returned home after they started their business at Daniyan Saba Saba Global Investment Ploting Station in Gbugbugbu.
The bandits reportedly took a motorcycle and carried out a violent operation, causing Alhaji Abbas’s vehicle to burn.
The incident marked a disturbing recurrence of the attack on Alhaji Abbas, who had previously survived an earlier encounter with bandits.
The latest kidnapping has caused shock waves through the community, raising serious concerns about insecurity in the area.
“This is not the first time Alhaji Abbas has been attacked,” said a source familiar with the situation. “The fact that they targeted him again, and this time successfully kidnapped him with his manager is worrying.”
Residents who witnessed the attack said the bandits retreated to nearby forests and were considered their hiding place.
Now, the community urgently needs to call on security agencies and state governments to intervene and address the growing sense of insecurity in the EDU local government areas. Witnesses who prefer to remain anonymous expressed concerns about the potential impact on agricultural activities.
