    Bayelsa Vigilante Nabs Two infamous pickpockets restore stolen cell phones

    Agents from security personnel in Vigilante, Bayelsa, stationed at the popular Tombia-Etegwe roundabout in the local government area of ​​Yenagoa, have arrested two notorious pickpockets who have admitted to stealing several cell phones.

    Suspects from Abia State, Daniel Michael Agu, 33, and Okpoh Kelvin, 34, of Bayelsa State, were arrested on Monday, May 12, 2025 from the victim’s prompt, who found them after they successfully collected their cell phones in a tricycle.

    According to one suspect, Daniel, their burglary of tricycles in Yenagoa Metropolis earned daily.

    Chairman of Bayelsa State Vigilante Security Gutt, Hon. Doubiye Alagba revealed that Daniel Agu, who married his wife and children, has been on the wanted list in his night watch suit.

    According to Allagh, the suspect was the leader of the thief gang and initiated many boys participating in the crime.

    He further pointed out that these criminals use charm and biological means to steal valuables from victims most of the time, and this arrest was a major crackdown on pickpockets.

    Arag also told the news reporter that an Abasi (M) from Akwa Ibom State boarded the tricycle around 11 a.m. Monday and realized his cell phone was stolen.

    He quickly boarded another tricycle and ran past a group of pickpockets. He stopped at the unit post where the ritual was alert to complain to the officers, which led to a stop and search and arrested the culprit.

    “Several cell phones were found in their property, including the complainant. When opening a captured cell phone, the owner immediately called her and said she was robbed by suspects from different locations in Yenagoa,” Algaba said.
