Bayern Munich has been confirmed as the 2024/25 Bundesliga champion, which always ends Harry Kane’s trophy drought.
Bayern Munich had to wait for Bayer Leverkusen to score against Freiburg as they themselves failed to win against RB Leipzig a day ago. Xabi Alonso’s team must win in Freiburg on Sunday to stay mathematically in the hunt and crown the Bavarians this weekend with a 2-2 draw.
The trophy is the 12th Bavaria champion in 13 years, but the first champion of England captain Harry Kane. After receiving his fifth yellow card of the season, he was forced to play against RB Leipzig and moved to the contact line when he stopped to the party in the 94th minute.
Kane will play home games with Monchengladbach on Saturday, May 10, 2025 as Bayern will celebrate with fans at the Allianz Arena. He has lost the Champions League and Calabar Cup finals in the past at the club level and lost the European finals twice in England.
It was also a huge trophy for Vincent Kompany, who had no chance of success at Bayern due to his lack of top experience. This is his second trophy two years after leading Burnley to win the 2022/23 season.
