Agents from the Nigerian police force dispersed supporters of Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senate District, who tried to enter the National Assembly.
Protesters are said to have moved to the Unification Fountain in Abuja to continue their demonstrations.
The protests are amid tensions following a conflict between Akpoti-uduaghan and Senate President Godswill Akpabio on February 20, 2025, while the Senate seating arrangements. The disagreement led her to referral to the Senate Ethics Committee.
Last Friday, Akpoti-Uduaghan accused Akpabio of sexual harassment and claimed she was the target because she rejected his progress – an allegation further promoted public scrutiny.
