A series of killings and deterioration against the state by chiefs of all the progressive conferences (APCs) of Julius Inedu, Benus State.
Naija News Inedu sighed in an open letter to the governor Governor HyacinthA disconnect with the reality faced by the people of Benu.
Inedu accuses Alia and his team of ignoring their core responsibilities while focusing on the struggle for power within the party.
According to him, communities across the state have been besieged by escalating peasant conflicts, robber attacks and public conflicts, with thousands of families displaced and living in dirty camps.
He expressed concern that despite the increased allocation of income to the country after the abolition of fuel subsidies, there was no corresponding improvement in safety or welfare programs.
He accused the governor of focusing more on internal APC leadership quarrels than dealing with the existing challenges of the people.
He said “Benue continues to bleed. Communities throughout the state are besieged, from the north to the south. Farmers’ crisis, robber attacks and public conflicts have not diminished. In many cases, they have strengthened. There are too many camps for the Internal Displaced Persons (IDP) camps, families have lost everything: families have lost everything: families, lovers, safety and their security.
“It’s disconnected from the local reality. The people of Benue are not worried about who controls the APC, they are worried about who controls the community and the security of the future.”
The APC chief also accused the state of worsening unemployment and noted that there has been no major recruitment among the Benue civil servants since 2014, leaving many young people unemployed and vulnerable to crime.
INEDU describes the growing army of young people as a “ticking time bomb”, urging the governor of Aria to use other federal allocations disposed by the state to create jobs, giving key vacancies in government ministries and institutions.
He further warned that the enthusiasm for Aria’s victory in the 2023 election quickly disappeared, and the popular “Is the Father” movement slogan is only the risk of becoming a memory.
He added:The momentum of hope that comes with you is waning. Passion, expectation, faith- They are gradually disappearing. The “Yes Father” movement has the risk of becoming a memory rather than a legacy.
“The people of Benue are not seeking miracles. They demand purposeful leadership, clear communication, and a sincere commitment to their welfare and safety. You are elected to serve them, protect them and restore dignity. The action now is now.”
