Benus State Capitol has suspended 13 members.
Nigeria News Nalin Benus State Capitol has reportedly suspended 13 of its members who opposed the removal of Judge Maurice Ikpambase.
Members met after Tuesday’s plenary meeting to distance themselves from their decisions, which they called were unconstitutional and undemocratic.
In an emergency plenary session on Wednesday, the House imposed a three-month suspension at the 13-man team, accusing their indiscretionary actions that could undermine parliamentary unity.
The suspended members, including those who initially voted for the removal of the Chief Justice, later denied supporting the decision at a press conference.
Majority leader Saater Tiseer confirmed that 23 of the 31 members present favored the removal after a thorough investigation into allegations of misconduct.

House Speaker Hyacinth Dajoh lists those suspended, including Mr. Douglas Akya (Makurdi South), Mr. Jonathan Agbidye (Katsina-Ala East), Mrs. Beckie Orpin (Gboko East), Mr. Simon Gabo (USHONGO GABO) -Mata) , Mr. Williams Ortyom (Agasha), Mr. Onah Blessed (Oju 1) and Mr. Elias Audu (Gwer East).
