Black smoke rolled through the chimney of Sistine Church on Wednesday night, indicating that the Cardinal’s first vote was inconclusive to elect a new pope to direct the Roman Catholic Church.
The cigarette was the only public sign of what happened during the Pope’s meeting, as the Cardinal handed over the cell phone and took a sworn, while the Vatican closed the cell phone tower to protect the deliberation.

White smoke will appear when choosing a pope, but it is not expected to be Wednesday – on the first day of a meeting in modern times, the pope has not been selected yet.
According to tradition, Black Smoke shows that no candidate gets the two-thirds majority required. However, when the Pope is chosen, white smoke appears.

When the Cardinal electors will gather again in Roman time at around 10:30 am to vote again for the 267th Pope election.
