Nigerian police forces expressed concerns about the protests of the “Bring Back Movement” program that coincides with National Police Day.
The force described the timing as “deliberate attempt to undermine the image of Nigerian police and extend it to the country.”
“The Nigerian police force read in the news that a group called the “Bring Back Movement” is planning to protest in various federal states, especially the largest federal capital territories, is scheduled to be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, and will be announced as a national police station on a day designated by the federal government.”
The police force expressed concerns about the motivation behind the protests, considering that this would bring together VIPs from all areas of life to celebrate the contribution of Nigerian police to national security.

“While not oppose the rights of citizens covered by the Constitution to enjoy peaceful parliament and association in Nigeria, the Nigerian Police Force is deeply concerned about the motivations of such protests scheduled for the contribution of the Nigerian Police Force to national security that day,” Adejobi added. ”
The federal government has declared April 7 as National Police Day to celebrate police resilience and dedication.
“In line with the best global practices adopted by the state in celebrating the achievements of its police agencies, the Nigerian government has taken the bull away by declaring April 7 each year as National Police Day,” Adhobi said.
