Cabals? Still fighting our refineries? Dange

Dangote Group President Alhaji Aliko Dangote said the “cabal” in the Nigerian oil and gas sector is still fighting the success of his $20 billion refinery.

Dangote expressed optimism that he would win the battle for the refinery and said his determination to fight.

According to international news media Semafor, Africa’s wealthiest person spoke at an investor forum in Lagos on Friday, May 2.

“For a very, very long time, those who made a lot of money from government Soviet oil imports tried to destroy the $20 billion refinery located in Lagos Lakekey,” he said.

He added: “These groups have funded resistance to the Bola Tinubu government’s lifting of gasoline subsidies and opposed refineries that are easily operated in the country.”

But Dangert said he believes the battle between himself and the group will be won to be proud of being a long-term fighter.

“We are fighting, and this fight is not over yet. But I’ve been fighting, I’m ready, I’m ready, 100% sure I’ll win at the end of the day.”

Recall that the Dangote refinery began selling gasoline in September 2024, which led to the import of imported fuel to Nigeria.
