Nollywood actress and devout prayer warrior Toonto Dick says she still prefers to be called “King Toonto Dick” even after reconciling with her ex-husband, businessman Olakunle Churchill.
In a recent interview with journalist Stella Dimoko Korkus, Tonto clarified the meaning behind the “King” in her name, explaining that it is often misunderstood on social media.
“My name is still King Tonto. To clear up any confusion, a lot of people think ‘King’ is a title. It has nothing to do with masculinity, disrespect, or challenging male egos. It’s actually the name I chose for my son. I love it, it means something to me, and it’s here to stay.” she explained.
The mother-of-one actress also opened up about her recommitment to her Christian faith, stressing that this time her relationship with God will be a lasting one.
Discussing the idea of starting a prayer channel, Tonto, who claims to have the gift of healing and prayer, said she would pursue this goal only with God’s guidance.
“At this point, I’m just asking God to lead me. If He directs me to start an online prayer meeting, I’m going to do it. I see myself as just a vessel,” she shared.
She also addressed rumors that her prayer activities are a means to make money.
“I didn’t seek God for financial gain. I was already wealthy. I didn’t seek God to become more famous; I was already famous. I came to God to survive and start over,” Tonto clarified.
When it comes to marriage, the actress revealed that her main focus remains her faith.
“Now, my goal is to follow Jesus and strengthen my relationship with Him. I want to build an unshakable faith. My heart is already filled with love for God,” she said.

@officialtitilizzy: “Refreshed and refreshed Tonto…I love you as my ikwerre sister and don’t miss you on your journey of new discovery. I pray that the Lord will support you and make this path permanent.”
@obehinoir: “Honestly, it’s nice to see Tonto make a change. I’m not following Pastor Jerry or anyone else, but if it allows her to have peace, then all is well. It’s good that she reconciled with her son’s father. It’s not healthy to have problems with people sometimes. My thought is, as long as she’s happy, then all is well. Peace is so important in life.”
@1937ogo: “I like her. But I miss the old dramatic Tonto.”
