
On Sunday, February 16, the Catholic Bishop of the Diocese of Kontagora, the most Pastor Bulus Yohanna, held a massive wedding for 21 couples at Niger State University.
The ceremony was held at the St. Mark Catholic Church in Nsanji Nkoso in the Magma Local Government Area, where couples who attended the traditional marriage ceremony and after three months of marriage consultation.
According to Bishop Yohanna, the ceremony is a ceremony that must ensure that the couple get married correctly in the eyes of the church.
He stressed that it is wrong to live together until a couple gets married legally and be blessed in the church. The bishop encourages couples to establish marriages in love and company, emphasizing that marriage is a lifelong commitment.
One of the couples, Cyprian Uche, expressed their gratitude to the bishop to help them formalize the alliance. The couple has lived together for 22 years and have five children, and he says they are happy to finally get married. Mrs. Uche noted that she is now eligible for a position in a women’s scholarship, which she could not have done before.
