Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton is expected to score a 1-1 draw in the Premier League clash between Everton and Manchester United, which is scheduled to be held at Goodison Park on Saturday.
When United headed to Merseyside, the stakes were high, where they would meet David Moyes’ Everton, which is expected to be a fierce encounter.
Despite the recent appointment of Ruben Amorim as new manager, Manchester United struggled to find a consistent form, currently ranking 15th in the Premier League rankings, amassing 29 points from 25 games.
The team faced a major challenge on the court, suffering three points in three of their last five league games, giving them one point ahead of local rival Everton.
By contrast, Everton has experienced a revival under Moyes’ guidance, which has achieved an impressive performance in four of the last five league games.
Their recent game ended with a 2-2 draw against league leader Liverpool, and their confidence increased as they prepare to face Manchester United.
Sutton elaborated on his predictions in a column on BBC Sport, saying “Everton was right in this match as a favorite. Their recent performance highlights their current momentum.
“But I believe this fixture will be fiercely fighting for…it has a unique feeling of a 1-1 draw, which is what I tend to do.”
Although he acknowledged that Manchester United is unlikely to face relegation concerns, he stressed the importance of positive results for Amorim and said “As we look forward to next season, it takes a decent result or two to start building some credibility.”
