Nigerian social media personality and self-proclaimed financial advisor GehGeh has sparked widespread controversy online after sharing a photo of himself posing to resemble the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
In images posted on his social media platform, GehGeh is seen wearing a crown of thorns with red markings resembling blood while describing himself as “Nigeria’s problem”. The photos quickly went viral, viewed more than 234,000 times, and attracted heavy criticism, particularly from the Christian community, who called the act disrespectful and blasphemous.
Amid the backlash, Gerge later addressed the situation, stating that humans should not be viewed as gods and encouraging his audience to embrace compassion rather than religious conflict.
In response to the outrage, he shared a follow-up message on Twitter, stating: “Don’t let anyone deceive you, man is not God, our God is a merciful God. No, don’t be religious, God doesn’t really send our message, just have a good heart and worship Him, don’t fight for Him.”
