
Rivers State Police Command has arrested a client who allegedly arrested a security officer Ifeanyi Ani to D3ATH at a restaurant in Rumukrushi in the Obio/Akpor local government area of the state.
According to the gathering, ANI was killed on Thursday, March 27, 2025 after a dispute with the client.
According to Punch, the incident happened when a customer parked his car in a restaurant, leaving his headlights behind.
According to reports, Ani approached the car and asked the owner to dim the lights, but found the man’s wife inside.
While explaining the request to the woman, the client emerges and questions what the security guard is discussing with his wife.
According to witnesses, an argument followed when Ani tried to clarify that he was just asking for dim headlights.
Sources said that the client allegedly slammed ANI multiple times, causing him to collapse and end up D! e.
“It’s like a movie. People try to intervene, but the man refuses to stop and continue to hit the security guard. I think the dead are from Enugu state,” a source.
After the incident, the restaurant’s manager arrested the suspect and handed him over to the mini Okoro police station.
On this issue, a rights organization, the Center for Basic Rights Protection and Accountability Activities, said that the deceased’s sister chinaza ani has contacted them with their partner organization “The International Initiative for Lawyers to Observe International Justice” in search of justice.
However, Prince Voro, the center’s national coordinator, revealed that the Chinese then asked the organization to take action because the family planned to meet with some people on the case.
Rivers State Police spokesman Grace Iringe-Koko confirmed the incident and the arrest of the suspect.
“Yes, I can confirm this incident. The man has been arrested and is in our custody. The investigation is underway,” she said.
