Content creator Folorunsho Olayinka (also known as Best) revealed that late comedian Adetola Samad (Sanku) is still owing Rs 13 million on the 2012 Lexus RX 350 SUV that took his life.
In a viral video seen on Tiktok, the Sahara journalist said he was Sanku’s guarantor, who revealed that the comedian bought the vehicle for 25.4 million people and planned to pay in installments.
Receipts from JJ Motors Empire and Services Limited, dated June 5, 2025, the best number of people amid the controversy surrounding Sanku’s death was shared on Tiktok’s live stream, showing that only $7 million was paid at the time of purchase.
He said “I was just a guarantor, and that was because the car dealer knew me. I just helped him. I was not a person who told him to come to Ilorin; he was the one who asked me to provide him with the driver. After paying, he started paying in installments until he paid, until he paid N12,280,000.
“So what is the person who I ordered to owe 13 million Dutch guilds (I was killed as a guarantor)?
“The late Sanku is not someone I’m giving his secret to the public, even if it’s what I’m saying, it’s because I’m being blamed for his death. I have all his voice notes and thank him for being his guarantor.
“The day of the accident, I sent my siblings and some guys who went to the scene with me. Even when they arrived at the hospital, they complained that they were not treated immediately. I am the one who makes money for my people.”
Earlier this month, Sahara dancers reported that Sanku had been tragically killed in a car accident on Ogbomoso Road, Oyo State.
Actor Yemi Elesho confirmed his death on his social media page.
A few days before his death, Sanku released a short play that portrayed himself in heaven, expressing his disappointment without many people expecting to meet.
In the video, he jokingly urges his partner to go to hell so that they can enjoy life together.
