Kogi State Information Commissioner Kingsley Fanwo said only safety operators can determine whether the suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-uduaghan will be arrested for violating the ban on public gatherings.
Naija News Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo banned all public gatherings on Monday, claiming the intelligence collected showed that some people planned to cause violence.
However, Natasha ignored the governor’s instructions and insisted that she go to the state to celebrate Eid Fitr with voters.
Police warned her in a statement to cancel the planned gathering, threatening to exert full legal anger on anyone who disturbs peace and order in the state.
The police said “In view of the security threats encountered at the planned rally, Kogi State Police Command recommended that organizers cancel the event to avoid any violations in the state’s law and order.
Natasha held a homecoming rally, and a group of supporters rushed into the event.
In an interview on the channel’s political show Tuesday night, Fanwo said security agents may ask Natasha about her incitement.
He said:The governor has a directive that security agencies are told to implement.
“If someone violates it, the security agency doesn’t need the governor to give them another directive; they know what to do.
“Only the security agencies can answer (whether the senator is arrested or not); they know how they operated. I’m not a policeman, but I’m very sure I should ask her a lot of questions about her incitement.”
