An officer who tried to meet the teenager while carrying “SX toys, condoms, limb restraints and restraint devices” has been sentenced to 32 months in jail. Inspector Thomas Kettleborough, 35, met with a 14-year-old boy he believed was a 14-year-old in Grindr and met him on July 14, 2023 in a parking lot in Bristol. Avon and Somerset officials were caught in a sting operation of organized crime units in the Southwest when he met him in a sting operation when he met Corner Crown. Prosecutor Nicholas Lewin said Kettleborough used a fake name, calling himself on Grindr and Snapchat and claimed to be 28 years old. “While searching for his vehicle, there was a yellow Aldi bag in the boots containing a variety of SX toys, condoms and binding devices, including a pair of limb constraints. ”After Kettleborough was arrested, police found him possessing more than 150 indecent images of children on his cell phone and computer. In a statement prepared for the sentence hearing, the victim’s mother said: “I am living every day now because of concerns about the safety of the child and my innocence as a parent, I cannot protect my child from eating my food. “But the reality is that it is not my son’s fault, nor anything I do as a parent. My son is a victim. “It has an impact on the whole family beyond my explanation, but I am proud that my son has the strength and courage to stand up. ” At an earlier hearing, Kettleborough pleaded guilty to the allegations of arranging or promoting child sex crimes, trying to Sxual Sockithing with the child and trying to cause or prompt the child to engage in SXUAL activities. He also pleaded guilty to one count of having sex with the child, and four counts of making indecent photos/pseudo photography for the child. Lee Bremridge (Lee) Bremridge defended, he said Kettleborough showed real remorse for his crimes. Mr Bremrdige said: “Since his arrest in July 2023, Mr Kettleborough has done everything he can try to do to try and understand why he committed his crimes. “This process has been a very long process and it is continuing, but it shouldn’t hurt him to do something for himself. ”Judge Stephen Climie said the combination of childhood trauma and his experience as a police officer led to a decline in his mental health. He said: “There is no criticism of the police themselves, but unfortunately, from time to time, it is inevitable that the traumatic experiences the officers find themselves facing. “Your thoughts are rid of the very positive background and positive performance of the employment field I describe. “The description of family members is also clear, otherwise you are a good member of society. In this case, it can be suggested that you aggravate the position in some way, shape or form as the work of the police. “In my judgment, if you have been using your position to incite sexual acts, but you do not. “ Of course, from a social perspective, it is regrettable for any service police to find themselves in a case where the court is accused of a criminal offense, but in my judgment it is not for the aggravation factor through the purpose of sentence. Kettleborough was also handed over to an indefinite preventive injury order and will be in the SX offender Lifetime Registration. After being imprisoned, police shared the Snapchat username, and Avatar Kettleborough used to help determine any further victims of his crime. Detective Inspector Dave Wells, who led the investigation, said: “He was convicted of four years in a serious sexual offense against a child.” Thomas Kettleborough was in a position of trust at the time, both as a policeman and as a Navy cadet and a volunteer at the Royal Life Saving Society, but he obscured his true identity through online characters “Liam”, “LS”, “LS” and “Liamss5506”. Expert investigators are prepared to listen and investigate any reports or any other matter of concern related to Thomas Kettleborough. I hope people know they will be believed. Thomas Kettleborough is now behind the prison. I hope that if there are other people affected by this case, now they have the right to tell someone if they are ready to do so. Kettleborough was kicked out of the troops by Avon and Somerset Police last month for serious misconduct and has been banned from the lifelong industry.
