Four men were signed at the Kubwa District Court in Abuja on Thursday, March 14, allegedly causing harm to the police officers who performed their duties.
The defendants, Gabriel Ezekiel, Jude Danlami, Daniel Effiong and Jacob Yohana were charged with criminal conspiracy, causing serious injury, theft and obstruction of police officers in the performance of their legal duties.
Earlier, prosecutor John Okpa, told the court that the complainant Joshua Matthew reported the matter at the Byazhin Police Department on March 6.
OKPA claims the defendant and his accomplices broke into the complainant’s house and stole a smart TV and N100,000 cash.
He said the defendant attacked the police with knives, sticks and stones when the police were arrested.
Police inspectors Wabi Elisha and Ujah were injured on Sunday and are currently undergoing treatment at the national hospital, he said.
Magistrate Oyepeju Mustapha adjourned the matter until March 20 ruling on his bail application.
