A court in Ilorin has been carried to street pop artists over multiple charges related to Saheed Osupa’s social media conflict.
The previous district court in Ilorin, Kwara state granted a million bail for controversial street jump artist Habeeb Okikiola (commonly known as a portable grocery store) to be charged with criminal slurs, cyberstall, public incitement and intimidation.
The case stems from a dispute between portable and Fuji musician Saheed Osupa, who claimed that the portable man slandered him in a live Instagram video on March 19, 2025. Fuji shakushakucopyright dispute from Apple Music.
Osupa filed a formal complaint, claiming that the statements made during the live broadcast were intended to damage his reputation and to arouse public hostility. The Intelligence Department of the Nigerian Police Department investigated the matter, resulting in the portable arrest in Abeokuta and transfer to Ilorin.
Although the court approved his bail on Monday, April 14, 2025, the situation has strict conditions. Two guarantors need to be presented portable: one must be the chairman or secretary of the Nigerian Performing Musicians Association (PMAN), the other must be the owner of the Government Reservation Area (GRA) and have a valid certificate of occupancy.
As of the time of reporting, the portable person was detained for failing to meet the bail requirement.
