DAAD Scholarship Scope

Eligibility Criteria for DAAD Scholarship 2023
To be eligible for the DAAD German Masters and PhD Scholarships 2023, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Required language: English or German.
- For international courses, the language of instruction is English. You will usually need to submit an English language certificate such as TOEFL or IELTS.
- For other courses, the language of instruction is German. You will usually need to submit a German language certificate such as DSH or TestDaF.
- Candidates possess a bachelor’s degree (usually a four-year program) or a master’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
- Candidates have at least two years of professional experience.

Can you apply for more than one DAAD scholarship course?
You can apply for up to three courses. If applying for more than one course, please list the courses in order of priority in the DAAD application form (see 7. Selection of German host university/institution) and do not change the priority in the corresponding application form!
Documents required for DAAD Scholarship:
- Signed and current DAAD application form
- Personally signed resume (please use the sample Europass form at http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/) with current date
- Personally signed letter of motivation (referencing current career and graduate program options, maximum two pages) with current date.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When applying to more than one graduate program (up to a maximum of 3 courses), you must submit a letter of motivation explaining why you are applying to these specific programs and why you have chosen this priority. - A letter of recommendation from your current employer; the letter must have letterhead, signature and official seal, and must be current (not in a sealed envelope)
- Employment certificate from your employer demonstrating at least two years of relevant work experience (post-bachelor’s degree) at the time of application and, if possible, a guarantee of re-employment from your current employer upon return to your home country.
- Proof of language proficiency:
- English – IELTS or TOEFL (Note: Institutional TOEFL is not accepted)
- German – required for courses taught in German
- Copy of degree (certified translation if necessary)
- Copies of academic transcripts included. Grading criteria (certified translation if necessary)
- Applicants from the People’s Republic of China need to submit an APS certificate along with their application documents.
