    • Nigerian man Kelvin Novo shared an interesting parenting story on social media, telling how he controlled his daughter Urenna’s obsession with peanut butter (ose oji).
    • He remembered one of his father’s tricks and bought a large box of sauce so that she could eat as much as she wanted.
    • After seeing a large portion, Urenna lost interest and her craving for food ceased. His creative approach has since gone viral.

A Nigerian man has amused social media users by sharing how he deals with his daughter’s overwhelming love for peanut butter, known locally as ‘ose oji’.

The man, Kelvin Novo, revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that his daughter Uurenna was so obsessed with the spread that her “body started shaking” whenever she saw it.

According to Kelvin, he decided to suppress his childhood cravings using the same method his father had used on him. He explained that no matter what food he liked, his father would buy him excess food until he was tired of it.

Following the same approach, Kelvin bought his daughter an entire painting (a large container) of peanut butter, confidently claiming that she could complete it.

    He wrote:

“This is my secret whenever I want my kids to stop craving something.
Urenna especially likes oji. Her body would start shaking every time she saw it.
This technique was taught to me by my father. Whenever I act like I like something too much, he buys more until I get tired of it.
So today I went to the market and bought half of a painting by Prince Ose.
Urenna and I tonight. She told me she could get it done. “

In a follow-up post, Kelvin shared that after seeing such a large amount, his daughter was no longer excited or even asking for more.

His story quickly went viral, sparking laughter and admiration from parents online who praised his creative and humorous parenting strategies.
