The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of the Edo country formally clarified that Dan Orbih was no longer part of the party, stressing that he no longer had the power to manage any of his affairs, including donating or distributing property.
Naija News The report said the party refuted Orbih’s claim to donate to the new secretariat, saying that the so-called facility is just a facade and belongs to the All Progressives Congress (APC), which the Orbih party is now publicly supported.
Statement issued by Dr. Chairman of the EDO PDP Care Committee Tony AchabemiThe party made it clear that Orbih’s PDP term ended on March 9, 2025. A new guard committee led by Chief Emma Ogidi has since controlled the party’s actions in the South-South region.
The statement also condemned Orbih’s recent action as part of a larger plot that stabilizes the state’s PDP.
“We were forced to respond to the Nollywood-style drama that was carefully planned by Chief Dan Orbih yesterday, simply because we received many calls and inquiries from the good guys about party members, the media and Edo State,” the statement reads.
The party further stressed that Orbih’s association with the PDP had been formally cut off, and he claimed that any property or assets he donated or allocated to the party should be ignored as invalid.
“Let it be clear in a lot: Chief Dan Orbih is no longer a member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He lacks the power and status of rent, donating or allocating any property to the EDO PDP. He claimed that the so-called secretariat donated was a facade – it belonged to the political party he now serves publicly, and that all the Progressive Assembly (APC) governments in Edo, he was nothing more than a political employee,The declaration was added.
The EDO PDP Careers Committee urges the people of the state to ignore Orbih’s actions and instead focus on the legitimate, progressive work done by the formal party leaders.
The statement reiterated that the Caretaker Committee remains united and is entirely responsible for the PDP affairs in Edo.
“Chief Orbih’s latest drama is a desperate attempt to disperse, undermine and understand the stability of the Edo PDP. His infamous record is well documented, so we refuse to make his antics dignified with improper attention,” the party concluded calling for continued focus on their efforts to advance the state’s development.
