Four Nigerian business tycoons have won attractions on Forbes’ 2025 billionaires list, reaffirming their dominance in the continent’s economic landscape.
The prestige ranking was released on Saturday, highlighting a massive surge in collective wealth of African billionaires, from $82.4 billion in 2024 to $100.5 billion in 2025.
Africa’s wealthiest man, Aliko Dangote, ranked No. 1 with a high net worth of $23.9 billion, increasing to a staggering increase from $13.9 billion in 2024.
Forbes attributed the surge to the valuation of his Dangot oil refinery, which played a crucial role in his financial growth.
Other Nigerian billionaires on the list include Mike Adenuga, Abdulsamad Rabiu and Femi Otedola, who finished 5, 6 and 16 respectively.

The list also includes billionaires from other African countries, including South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Tanzania and Zimbabwe. Forbes noted that net assets are calculated based on stock prices and currency exchange rates as of March 7, 2025.
The ranking does not include Sudan-born billionaires Mo Ibrahim and South African Nathan Kirsh, who operate outside Africa.
U.S. imports more than 2 million barrels of jet fuel from Dangote refinery
In March, the U.S. had imported more than 2 million barrels of aviation fuel from the Dangot refinery, a statement from the refinery said on Tuesday.
The refinery confirmed that six ships carrying about 1.7 million barrels of jet fuel this month arrived at U.S. ports this month.
