The Dangote refinery has lowered the price of gasoline to 865 liters per liter, marking a 15-time drop in the price of 880 liters per liter sold at the facility on Wednesday.
According to Punch, the refinery notified its customers in a notice issued Thursday morning, and Petroleumprice.ng also confirmed its customers.
Naija News The report said the adjustment came after the suspension of the Naira-picky deal between the refinery and the federal government.
Oil marketers, including Mrs., have begun to lift gasoline from refineries, which has a production capacity of 650,000 barrels per day.
The price adjustment was confirmed by the Technical Subcommittee on the sale of crude oil and refined products in Naira that the federal government’s crude oil policy on Naira will continue.
The Subcommittee held a meeting on Tuesday to review policy progress and address ongoing implementation challenges.
Several senior officials attended the meeting to discuss matters surrounding the Naira initiative’s sales of crude oil and fine products. These include Wale Edun, Chairman of the Implementation Committee, Secretary of Finance and Minister of Economic Coordination; Zacch Adedeji, Chairman of the Technical Subcommittee, is also the Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS); Dapo Segun, Chief Financial Officer of NNPC Limited.
Other notable participants were NNPC Refinery, NNPC Transaction Management, representatives of Dangote Petroleum Refinery and coordinator of petrochemistry, officials from the Nigeria Upstream Petroleum Commission (NUPRC), Nigeria Midway and Downstream Petroleum Regulator (Nmdiger) (NMDPRA) Port Authority (NPA), Afreximbank and Commission Secretary Hauwa Ibrahim.
