

Nigeria’s Afrobeats star David Adeleke (commonly known as Davido) responded strongly to a controversial report from the popular Instagram blog that mistakenly linked him to the kidnapping case.
The report spread quickly, including a videotape that included three men who were arrested by a legacy resident in Lagos State. In the video, one of the suspects introduced himself “Ifeanyi from Anambra state,” The leader allegedly confirmed his nickname “David,” illustrate, “David is my nickname. I’ll kidnap.” The other two suspects claimed to be from Kwara and Imo State.
Instagram blog subtitles videos with misleading claims: “Davido and two others were arrested for kidnapping in Lagos.” The post immediately sparked anger and confusion among fans and social media users.
Davido responded to the Instagram blog post on the kidnapping case, and Davido sent a harsh warning to X (formerly Twitter). He wrote, “One day to go…continue…my karma will always be tey.”
The blog quickly deleted the post after a strong opposition and the singer’s response. However, this controversy further fuels discussions about the spread of misinformation on social media and its potential consequences.
