Singer Davido has apologized to gospel musician Tosin Bee for wrongly blaming him for his grievances following a tense court hearing regarding his daughter Imade.
The misunderstanding occurred shortly after Davido attended a court hearing at the Lagos State High Court in Alabama where emotions were running high during the proceedings involving his estranged partner, Sophia Momodu.
There were reports that Davido was unhappy with one of Sophia’s lawyers during the hearing. Later, he shared Tosin Bee’s post on Instagram, wrongly assuming that the gospel singer was connected to a lawyer.
In a now-deleted Instagram Story, Davido made pointed remarks about Tosin Bee, referencing his family and career. The post quickly gained traction online, leaving fans confused by the sudden outburst.
Rather than react angrily, Tosin Bee calmly handles the situation. He clarified that Davido confused him with someone else and mentioned that his mother passed away a few years ago.
“Hello, Mr. David, I know nothing about your post. In fact, my mother went to be with the Lord eight years ago,” he explained. He called the incident a case of mistaken identity and expressed his best wishes for the singer.
“I think it’s a case of mistaken identity. I’m sorry you have to deal with this, but I’m praying for you. I love you, brother,” Tosin Bee added.
Following the clarification, Davido admitted his mistake and issued a brief but sincere apology: “I apologize! My bad G,” he wrote.
