    • Nigerian Afrobeat stars dominate the 2026 Grammy Awards nominations, marking another milestone for African music on the global stage. Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr and Omah Lay are all nominated, with Davido and Omah Lay’s collaboration song “With You” nominated for Best African Music Performance.
    • Burna Boy is also nominated for Best Global Music Album for No Sign of Weakness.

    Nigerian Afrobeat stars are once again taking center stage as the 2026 Grammy Awards nominations were announced on Friday night, with Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Ayra Starr and Omah Lay all receiving recognition.

    The announcement highlights the continued global rise of Nigerian music and its strong influence on the world stage.

    In the Best African Music Performance category, Davido and Omar Lay are jointly nominated for “With You,” marking Omar Lay’s first Grammy nomination. Joining them are Burna Boy’s “Love,” Ayra Starr and Wizkid’s “Gimme Dat,” Eddy Kenzo and Mehran Matin’s “Hope & Love,” and Tyla’s “PUSH 2 START.”

    Already a Grammy winner, Burna Boy is also nominated for Best Global Music Album for No Sign of Weakness, competing alongside Youssou N’Dour, Anoushka Shankar, Shakti, Siddhant Bhatia, and Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia.

    The nominations sparked celebrations across Africa, with fans praising the recognition of Nigerian artists whose creativity and influence continue to shape the global soundscape.

    As anticipation continues to build in the lead-up to the awards show, the 2026 Grammy Awards will serve as a landmark moment for afrobeat music, showcasing the progress of Nigerian music and its resonance across the globe.
