African Democratic Congress president Dele Momodu has lambasted political economist Professor Pat Utomi for comments he made about former Labor presidential candidate Peter Obi’s political prospects.
In a post on his official X account on Friday, Momodu criticized Utomi’s recent comments following Obi’s defection to ADC.
The Daily Mail recalls Utomi warned in a television interview on Thursday that he would withdraw his support for Obi if he accepts the position of vice-presidential candidate of the emerging opposition alliance.
However, Momodu said he was surprised by Utomi’s stance and insisted that anyone who rules out Obi as running mate does not believe in democratic choice.
“Anyone who insists that Obi cannot be left behind by anyone is definitely not a Democrat who wants to save Nigeria from dictatorship,” Momodu wrote.
