Popular Nigerian gospel singer Sola Allyson has been criticized for her direct reference to Jesus in her songs.
Naija News Alison was reportedly called out after experienced gospel singer Panam Percy Paul narrated his £24 million (at the time around £7 billion) in 1995 to remove “Jesus” from his songs.
However, the proposed condition is a condition – he was asked to reduce the number of times he mentioned “Jesus” in the song.
A series of posts with Panam Paercy Paul wrote: A user with handle @folahanayo1 wrote: “Sola Allyson @thesolaallyson can’t make a connection. An album, not a single mention of Jesus.
“This is your 2019 album, iri.8 track, runs for 48 minutes. There is no mention of the name of “Jesus” throughout the album. (If I misunderstood, ask me). Even in track 8, you’re talking about your “Gbekele”. However, the personal attack is indeed under you.”
In response, Sola Allyson described the criticism as ruthless in a video shared online, stressing that she did not want to be associated with the critic’s own “Jesus.”
The singer believes that her music stems from her beliefs and values.
She said “Why are you this cruel and ruthless person? It’s until I committed suicide until my own Jesus, I don’t want to be identified with you!
“Again, no one will bully me to join their darkness and look like light because the lazy soul finds comfort in it. I don’t want to be with your Jesus. Let me be alone and face your own journey.”
